The Barbara McDonnel Collection contains 7x17-inch palladium prints of the Saint Louis area between 1998 to 2004. The black-and-white images depict urban sprawl, the Mississippi River, and St. Louis City buildings. A native of Kirkwood, Missouri, Barbara McDonnell (1947-  ) began her professional photography career in 1994, producing platinum and palladium prints depicting suburban and urban subjects, still lifes, and landscapes. Her artwork has appeared in the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago's Midwest Photographers Project, and the Sheldon Art Galleries.

The German Heritage Corridor will focus on the counties north and south of the Missouri River, from St. Charles and St. Louis, to Chariton, Saline, and Lafayette. This corridor includes several distinct German communities, including New Melle, Herman, Dutzow, and Westphalia.

Turnbo. The collection also includes a large selection of promotional publications and ephemera associated with late 20th century tourism in Missouri and Arkansas.

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church was dedicated November 7, 1791, by Manuel Perez, the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana. Located off Main Street in the town of Les Petites Cotes, Perez officially changed the town's name to San Carlos (St. Charles) the same day he dedicated the church. Daniel Boone's oldest son, Daniel Morgan Boone, was married to Sarah Griffen Lewis at the church on March 2, 1800. The records include baptisms, marriages, and deaths, in Spanish, French, Latin, and English.
