The John J. Riordan Papers document the World War I military career of a veterinary officer, his career as a professional veterinarian in Tarkio, Missouri, and his efforts to record his wartime experiences through writing his memoir, Horses, Mules and Remounts: The World War I Memoir of a Veterinary Officer.

This collection contains digitized photographs of the Flader, Johnson, and McKinney families. Many of the photos are by or of Jessie Mae Johnson, who lived in Bollinger County and the St. Louis area in Missouri. The original photographs were taken between 1910-1980. The collection also includes some of the donor’s extensive genealogical research for the Bridger, Beal, Fadler, Johnson, McKinney, and Yamnitz families. Also contains 95 short audio recordings made by Jessie Mae (“Mae”) Johnson, Birdie E. Scott, and Norma Jean (“Jean”) Bridger in the late 1990s.

Scrapbook of a Jazz musician and pianist. Eddie Johnson, a piano player on the riverboat Idlewyld, took over a jazz orchestra from Oliver Cobb when Cobb died in 1931. The new band, the Crackerjacks, played St. Louis and nationally toured until it disbanded in 1931. The Crackerjacks recorded its most popular song, "Ya Yas," for the Victor label. The band included saxophonists Tab Smith and Ernest Franklin, and trumpeter Harold Baker. The scrapbooks contain playbills and newspaper clippings.

The collection contains board minutes and committee minutes; material relating to the many programs and projects the League has sponsored over the years; the League's publications, including "Topics," "League Letter," and membership directories. Kalb, Sr. also served as a City of Maplewood Councilman for nearly 14 years.
