The James Memorial Public Library Photograph Collection contains negative copies of photographs brought to the library in St. James by residence who lived in town and the surrounding area. The original images date from the 1870s to the 1990s and include family portraits, city scenes, local businesses, area schools, events, parades, weddings, and church activities among many others. The majority of the photographs are from Phelps County with representation from Crawford and Dent counties.

The Jewel Family Papers contain photocopies of correspondence between members of the Jewel family during the Civil War. Correspondence between siblings James and Sallie Jewel, the former of whom served as a private in the Confederate army, comprises most of the collection. Also included is correspondence between William, Martha, Mary, and James Jewel Sr., as well as close cousins of the Jewel family. The complete date range of the collection is 1859-1878, with bulk dates from 1862 to 1865.

Scott, Norma Jean Bridger, and their families from the late 1800s to the early 2010s, with photographs of farms and scenery in Bollinger, Perry and Scott Counties.  Additionally, the collection includes portions of Leslie McKinney's extensive genealogical research for the Bridger, Beal, Fadler, Johnson, McKinney, and Yamnitz families. Kalb, Sr. also served as a City of Maplewood Councilman for nearly 14 years.
