These materials include meeting minutes, membership lists, financial records, bylaws, photographs, and membership petitions.

Information on Sample Orr and his family gathered by Justus R. Moll for the writing of an article. Orr, born in Tennessee, came to Missouri in 1852 and was the Constitutional Unionist candidate for governor in 1860. After the Civil War he moved to Montana and finally to Idaho. Correspondence is primarily between Moll and Orr's daughter, Katie Orr Chapman.

These papers deal mostly with the conviction, appeal , and later the death of J. F. Kennedy, a train-robber. William J. Orr was an attorney for the Kansas City, Fort Scott and Memphis Railway, and later the St. Louis-San Fransisco Railway, who prosecuted Kennedy in 1899. Also included is an obituary of Orr from the Springfield, Missouri News Leader.

This collection consists of fourteen black and white photographs loaned for copying by Carolyn Parry Tilford. The photographs include images common to rural and agricultural life from early 1900 to the 1920s such as a barn-raising, church construction, cattle and mules, steam-powered farm equipment, and a gasoline-powered sawmill. Most of the images are from the Elk Prairie neighborhood of Phelps County, but there are also three views of cattle ranching at the Rhinehart Ranch in Shannon County. Rhinehart Ranch, also known as Spring valley Ranch, is located northwest of Eminence in Shannon County, Missouri. It was most active 1900-1924. the property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its agricultural and architectural significance.
