The League of Women Voters evolved from the suffrage movement and was initiated to educate the voters of the United States. A non-partisan organization, the League has been involved in most of the political issues in St. Louis since the ratification of the nineteenth amendment. The collection includes correspondence, financial records, subject files, radio scripts, and publications relating to a wide variety of issues and personalities. Also included in the collection are photographs, films, audiotapes, and artifacts.

Materials of interest include a feasibility and need analysis commissioned by LifeBridge in 1983 to evaluate and recommend a centralized recreational facility for the St. Louis Region’s disability community. Also included in the collection are LifeBridge Partnership's born-digital files, including board meeting minutes and resolutions, newsletters, and strategic plans. Topics of interest consist of LifeBridge's reevaluation of its mission, name, and logo; program support services, including transportation services for clients; and LifeBridge's updated health policies and fundraising strategies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The materials in this collection date from 1952 to 2020.

This collection documents activist and Labor leader Ora Lee Malone’s career from 1970 to 1990. Malone’s involvement in the Labor movement began in 1956 when she organized St. Louis workers to join the ACWA (Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America). In 1970, the ACWA hired her as their first Black international business representative. Malone merged the interests of the civil rights movement and women’s rights movement into the Labor movement, and was foundational in the organization of national Labor unions dedicated specifically to the interests of female and Black workers. In the 1980s, she became a key figure in the transnational anti-apartheid movement.  The Ora Lee Malone Papers include Malone’s personal notes and speeches, correspondence, organizational papers, and reference materials.

Records of the St. Louis March on Washington Movement, which was founded in response to A. Phillip Randolph's call for a march to end discrimination in defense work. Executive Order 8802 established the Fair Employment Practices Commission (FEPC) in June 1941. The local
MOWM picketed businesses and industry, staged mass rallies and succeeded in bringing the FEPC to St. Louis in August 1944 to hold hearings.

The records of Metro Housing Resources contain correspondence, meeting minutes, applications, and newsletters documenting the organization's mission to advocate for fair housing and housing options for lower-income families and researching questions related to fair housing and the provisions of housing for low-income and minority families. The services consisted of developing and maintaining a listing service for clients and providing a referral and counseling service for people alleging discrimination in housing. Harry Edward Berndt, the director, closed the organization in 1982, citing declining support for housing issues under the Reagan administration.
