Negatives and prints taken by William Fambrough, Sr., a prominent black Kansas City photographer. Fambrough studied photography at Lincoln University, joined the 829th Aviation Engineers of the United States Army Air Force during World War II, and worked for the Kansas City Call as staff photographer for much of his career. He took thousands of photographs that showcased the lives and events of the black community in Kansas City. The collection contains photographs from the 1940s-1970s.
