Nelson operated a commercial apple orchard and a tavern and motel along Uunited States Highway 66. Arthur T. Nelson served on various Missouri state commissions and boards. The photographs in the collection have been copied on 35mm negatives and slides.

The Gregory Nooney papers document his life as a St. Louis Real Estate Developer. In the 1930s and 1940s, Nooney worked as an executive for Stix, Baer, and Fuller and Lesser-Goldman. He also served on the City Plan Commission and the Missouri Retailers' Association. In 1945 he founded the Nooney Company, which developed St. Louis' first shopping center and Clayton's first high-rise building. The collection includes correspondence, employment contracts, memoranda, newspaper clippings, photographs, and a scrapbook.
