The Leslie Leroy Buckley Papers consists of photocopied biographical material about the life of Leslie LeRoy Bucklew. The collection features correspondence between Bucklew and soldiers he served with during the Spanish-American War and World War I, and letters from President Harry S Truman and Bess Truman. Other materials of interest include 1917 photographs of World War I servicemen serving at Camp Doniphan and Fort Sill. The collection also contains two oral history interviews of Bucklew recounting his childhood in St. Louis, his mother's friendship with Mary Todd Lincoln's sister, and his experiences in the Spanish-American War.

The papers contain minutes, reports, financial statements, high school yearbooks, and photographs documenting Buckner's activities in educational, civic, and fraternal organizations.

Reverend David V. Bush presided over the Memorial Congressional Church in St. Louis between 1917 and 1921. The church, known as the church with the "revolving, flaming cross" fixed on top of the building, was located at the corner of Victoria and Graham. According to a field report from 1918, the average congregation attendance was 121 people. Most of this collection contains correspondence from dated from 1917 to 1921 regarding everyday congregational matters, such as finances and the church community.

The Daniel Aloysius Byrne Papers contain photographs, military registration cards, and a diary pertaining to Byrne’s early life and service in the United States Army during World War I. A St. Louis native, Daniel Aloysius Byrne (1891-1976) served in Company B, 114th Field Signal Battalion, 39th Infantry Division, primarily overseeing telephone exchanges in France after the November 11 armistice. Materials of interest include Byrne’s diary, which documents his experiences training at Camps Pike and Beauregard; encountering German submarines while crossing the Atlantic Ocean onboard the U.S.S. DeKalb; and witnessing air battles between American and German forces near Ippecourt, France.
