This collection contains the records of the St. Louis Bureau for Men, the first agency in the United States to provide social services to transient and homeless men. The collection is a combination of the Bureau's administrative files and the professional files of two of its four directors, Isaac Gurman and Charles Mann. The records document the founding of the Bureau until its demise in 1982 and the change of its focus from beggars, transients, and homeless men in the 1930s to ex-convicts in the 1950s-1980s.

Bush Sr. Real Estate Records contain closing statements, correspondence, appraisals, statements, property titles and information, certificates of title, deeds of trust, and ledgers that document real estate holdings in St. Louis City from 1909 to 1966. James T. Bush Sr. began working in the real estate business in the 1920s and was instrumental in establishing the Real Estate Brokers Association of St. Louis in 1946. Throughout his career, he worked to maintain records pertaining to landlord rental properties in St. Louis.

Reverend David V. Bush presided over the Memorial Congressional Church in St. Louis between 1917 and 1921. The church, known as the church with the "revolving, flaming cross" fixed on top of the building, was located at the corner of Victoria and Graham. According to a field report from 1918, the average congregation attendance was 121 people. Most of this collection contains correspondence from dated from 1917 to 1921 regarding everyday congregational matters, such as finances and the church community.

The Loman and Laura Cansler Collection represents a lifetime of collecting on Missouri’s folk song and folklore tradition. Cansler recorded and collected folk songs, proverbs, jokes, and home remedies, primarily in Missouri, but also in Kansas and Illinois. In addition to this large body of folk song and folklore material, the collection includes information on Cansler’s early life in Dallas County, Missouri, his WWII service, and his career as a school counselor at the Fayette and North Kansas City High Schools. The collection also includes slides and prints of Laura Cansler’s abstract expressionist artwork.
