James T. Bush Sr. began working in the real estate business in the 1920s and was instrumental in establishing the Real Estate Brokers Association of St. Louis in 1946. Throughout his career, he worked to maintain records pertaining to landlord rental properties in St. Louis.

Of particular interest are the papers for Kansas City Jazz Inc., which Grant was president for several years, and the pamphlets and correspondence for Future Farmers of America (FFA).
