He Served as Mallinckrodt Chemical Works director (1901-1965), vice-president (1918-1928), and board chairman (1928-1965). The collection Documents family and business history, Mallinckrodt’s contributions to medicine, conservation, and education. Included in the collection are correspondence, reports, biographies, speeches, notes, scrapbooks, publications, blueprints, patents, and photographs.

The Cyrus A. Mead Papers contain photocopies of a letter written by Cyrus A. Mead during the Civil War to his sister in Eaton, Ohio. Serving with the 42nd Ohio Infantry in Camp Chase, Ohio, Mead noted the sickness in the regiment and remarked on the regimental officers, including Colonel James A. Garfield, who later became President of the United States.

The Rotoscope Collection contains the personal papers of Rowe Carney Jr., photographs, patents, schematics and design materials, promotional material, and 35mm reels of film related to the Rotoscope. Invented by Rowe Carney Jr. of Rolla, Missouri, and Tom Smith of Urbana, Missouri, the Rotoscope is a single camera, single projection system capable of taking and projecting a scope of 180 degrees on one reel of film. The collection also includes film scripts written by Rowe 'Doc' Carney and correspondence related to the production of two of his films.
