Pension papers of the widow of Lewis P. Elson, a private in Company I, 49th Missouri Volunteer Infantry.

Barton writes that he is unable to "go to Fayette, St. Louis or Kaskaskia" since he wishes "to visit in a S.W. direction." He also writes that he is "willing to resume [Alcorn] or Hickman," at Hayden's option. Barton was one of the first U.S. senators from Missouri, serving from 1821 to 1831.

The papers of O.T. Coleman contain speeches and articles by a soil specialist with the Agricultural Extension Service of the University of Missouri and director of Missouri county soil testing laboratories.

The papers of William Jasper Spillman contain correspondence and papers concerning the establishment of the William J. Spillman Farm Management Fund at the University of Missouri. Also included are two unpublished calculus manuscripts by W.J. Spillman.

Fourteen letters solicited, 1854-1858, by D.L. Perkins for their autograph value from cabinet members, U.S. senators and representatives, U.S. Supreme Court justice and university presidents. 1827 letter is a recommendation of Perkins by Francis Wayland, president of Brown University.
