The papers of Ira B. Hyde contain school, speech, law and political materials of Hyde, a Princeton, MO, lawyer who attended Oberlin College and was prosecuting attorney for Mercer County, congressman (1873-1874), and a promoter of railroads and banks.

The records contain volumes from a general store located at Neelys Landing, Cape Girardeau County, MO. Neelys is a ferry landing on the Mississippi River.

Correspondence with colleagues and students, articles, speeches, poems, programs, report cards and diplomas of Hermann B. Almstedt, professor of Germanic Languages at the University of Missouri.

The papers of Henry S. Caulfield contain correspondence, diaries, photographs, reports, speeches, and miscellaneous material. Caulfield was a Republican governor of Missouri (1929-1933) and St. Louis official.

The papers of Irwin Raut contain miscellaneous material, including price lists for trunks (1874-1879), railway schedules, information on Sedalia and St. Louis, and a scrapbook of poetry.

The collection contains clippings collected by a Republican delegate to the 1943 Missouri constitutional convention. They cover the convention, campaign for the approval of the proposed charter, and revision of statutes by the General Assembly to conform to the new constitution.

The records of the University of Missouri Research Council contain correspondence on administrative matters, memoranda, circulars, meetings, National Science Foundation grants, summer research professorships, reports, finances, clippings and miscellany. The records were collected by Raymond E. Peck, acting dean of the Graduate School and chairman of the council in 1959.

The papers of E.T. Behrens contain photographs, financial records, scrapbooks, correspondence, bills, receipts, and tax forms of Sedalia cigar-maker. Accounting records relate to Sedalia Independent Company and Behrens Cigar Manufacturers. Scrapbooks are collection of information preparing for 1921 Missouri centennial.

Papers of a professor of mathematics, physics, and philosophy. Includes manuscripts concerning philosophy, mathematics, New Testament, James Kennedy Patterson, Switzerland and Italy, and World War I. Also a photograph album of the University of Missouri campus and a University of Missouri Bulletin on Smith.

Photographs of family, friends, employers, church, and schools collected by Julia Warren Harris. Two folders contain postcards, a few letters, and announcements. The collection is a vivid portrait of black family and social life in Boone County, MO.

Correspondence of state forestry officials, representatives and senators, U.S. Department of Agriculture and other concerned people and agencies. Westveld was a leading advocate of forestry research.

Correspondence, notes and manuscripts, and miscellaneous papers of a corn geneticist in the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Department of Field Crops at the University of Missouri, who did pioneering research on the effects of X-rays upon mutation in plants.

Diary consists of "letters" written to Clapp's wife during service in the Mississippi Fleet of the Union. As a surgeon, Clapp participated in Grant's campaign to take Vicksburg, the Yazoo Pass Expedition, and the Battle of Grand Gulf. Provides glimpses of shipboard life, comparisons of army and navy, observations on slavery, and familial concerns.

The papers of Ashleigh P. Boles contain correspondence, photographs, and publications of horticultural agent and director of Agricultural Development Department of the Missouri Pacific Lines. The collection also contains similar materials relative to his participation in short courses on railroad transportation of agricultural products; and membership in Friends of the Land Society, Civitan Club, and American Railway Development Association.

The collection contains a land survey indicating the boundaries of Chambers' 62 1/2 acre plot in Kennedys Creek, Bourbon County, KY.

The collection contains a letter to C.F. Jackson, governor-elect of Missouri, from St. Louis, MO, Nov. 25, 1860, concerning Missouri's financial affairs and inability to pay the January interest. The letter discusses possible action, advises a suspension of specie and requests Jackson to consider official action.

The collection contains a Confederate paymaster's roll submitted by Captain Rogers and approved by C.F. Jackson.

The papers mention the 5th Military District, reporting number of forces and quartermaster's duties.

The papers of Alexander E. Steen contain correspondence of a Confederate brigadier general of the 5th Division, Missouri State Guard, concerning a military engagement near Fort Scott, September 1, 1861; John E. Pitt's attempt to organize troops in the 5th Military District; and the discharge of soldiers.

The papers of Lon Vest Stephens contain three letters to the governor of Missouri concerning Missouri state bonds; the financial state of the Security National Bank of Grand Island, NE; and a reorganization of the Florida State Militia.

Three letters from "Roger" in Washington, D.C. They concern Sherman's march to the sea, G.K. Warren's failure to destroy important railroad connections, and other military news. His information is from southern newspapers and U.S. Grant's telegrams.
