This collection consists of three letters to Mrs. Vincent George of Lynn, Massachusetts, from her newlywed daughter, Mary, who was on her honeymoon road trip to the Grand Canyon. One letter was written from Lebanon in Laclede County, Missouri.

These are two programs and three premium lists for the annual Ozark Empire Fair, held at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri, on August 9-15, 1947, August 11-17, 1951, August 11-19, 1964, August 7-13, 1969, and August 11-18, 1971.

This is a minute book of the Daughters of Rebekah Zinc Lodge No. 369 at Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. The minutes begin on January 14, 1988 and continue through June 24, 1993, after which Zinc Lodge consolidated with Blendville Lodge at Joplin.

These are an addition to the records of Daughters of Rebekah Blendville Lodge No. 298 at Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. The records begin in 1986 and continue to the dissolution of the lodge in 2001. The earlier records of Blendville Lodge No. 298 have been previously microfilmed as WHMC-Rolla collection R0557.

These booklets contain printed minutes of annual meetings of an association of Baptist churches in southeastern Missouri. The St. Francois Baptist Association included about twenty congregations in Madison, Bollinger, Wayne, and Iron Counties.

This is a holograph letter dated February 27, 1866 from N. J. Price at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri, to "Bro. John." the letter concerns a legal matter and a forthcoming move.

This is a freight receipt book of Samuel Spencer Vinton (1828-1890), and a reminiscence by his son, Samuel Spencer Vinton (1857-1951). The receipt book reflects a freighting business from Sedalia to southwestern Missouri, 1864-1865. The reminiscence, written in 1939, concerns life around Springfield, Missouri, circa 1875-1890.

This collection consists of fifteen issues of "Over the Rainbow" a feminist newsletter edited by Betty Burnett of Springfield in Greene County, Missouri.

This is "We've Come This Far by Faith", a centennial anniversary booklet for the Second Baptist Church of Neosho in Newton County, Missouri. The African-American congregation was founded in 1876.

These are two map brochures published by the Western Missouri Land-O-Lakes Association, to promote tourism in the area including the "Upper Arm" of the Lake of the Ozarks, Pomme de Terre Lake, and the planned Stockton Lake and Kaysinger Bluff (later Harry S. Truman) Reservoir.

These are business papers of Austin H. Welch of St. Louis, Missouri, regarding investments in Missouri and Arkansas lands through the Dorsey Corporation of Moline, Illinois. Among the papers are reports on a coal property near Bourbon in Crawford County, Missouri, and agricultural land near Texarkana in Miller County, Arkansas.

These are newsletters for October 1950, June 1853, January-February 1968, April 1970, and April 1977 for Abou Ben Adhem Temple, a chapter of the "Shriners," at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri.

This is a printed promotional letter for Hartman's Hideaway, a campground near Kirbyville in Taney County, Missouri.

This is typewritten letter from Fred M. Hauck at Fort Lewis, Washington, to Chester Parker at Camp Haan, California. Hauck and Parker were United States Army enlisted men from Dixon in Pulaski County, Missouri.

This is "Let's Give a Party," a guide to entertaining published by the Shepherdess Guard Patrol of Pleiades White Shrine No. 1 of the Order of the White Shrine of Jersualem at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri. Included are a photograph of the Patrol in regalia and historical summary and current roster.

This is the "Year Book 1926" for the T.E.L. Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. Included are a list of officers and committee members, a schedule of meetings, and a membership roll.

The Hans Peter Andersen Papers contain the personal correspondence of Dr. Hans Peter Andersen, a physician who graduated from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. An immigrant from Denmark, most of the letters addressed to Hans are from family members back home, but also include letters from fellow medical students serving in the United States Army Medical Corps during World War I.

This contract is an 'Agreement between Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc., Fibers & Minerals Division, Joplin, Missouri, and Local Union No. 279, United Cement, Lime and Gypsum Workers.' The agreement was executed on May 3, 1967, effective from May 1, 1967.

These are 45 issues of 'the KWTO Dial', a monthly publication of the radio station KWTO at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri, from June 1944 to November 1951. Each issue contains a broadcast schedule and news about the station's programs and staff.

These papers provide information about the Pilot Knob Pellet Company's iron-ore mining and processing facililties at Pilot Knob in Iron County, Missouri. The operation opened there in May 1968, reviving an iron industry that had been dormant since 1919.

This is a bicentennial souvenir pictorial booklet published by the chamber of commerce in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the town of Sainte Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri. It contains photographic views of historic sites and buildings in the town.

These are the professional papers of Henry Emmett Gross, an engineer, inventor, and map-maker from Webster Groves, Missouri. Most of the collection concerns his patents for deep ocean oil drilling and marine salvage.

These are yearbooks for 1916 and 1954 for Culture Circle of Crescent Chapter No. 21 of the Order of the Eastern Star at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri. This club met at the Sorosis club House in Springfield.

This is the premium list booklet for the Cole Camp Fair, held on September 117-19, 942 at Cole Camp, Missouri, under the auspices of the Benton County Agricultural and Mechanical Society.

These are District Clerk's record books from Cedar Grove School in northern Iron County, Missouri. They include minutes of annual and board meetings, financial date, records of the employment of teachers and custodians, and annual enumerations of school-age children.

These are enrollment and attendance records for Reed Creek School near Banner in northern Iron County, Missouri. Also included are recommendations and remarks concerning individual students, but not their grades.

These are papers concerning the establishment of the Nevada Gas, Oil and Asphalt Company, a mineral exploitation and development firm in Barton and Vernon Counties in southwestern Missouri.

This is a minute book for cotton Hill Lodge No. 306, a chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows located at Malden in Dunklin County, Missouri.

These are the photographs of Arthur Clinton Draper, a producer of minstrel shows. Draper produced minstrel shows in the central and western states for over thirty years, specializing in benefit performaces at Elks lodges.

These are booklets published for community centennial, homecoming, and Civil War centennial, and homecoming, celebrations at Leasburg in Crawford County, Missouri.

This is a "Map of Part of Dent county, Mo. showing route adopted by the Minneapolis, Little Rock and Gulf Railway Co., 27 August 1902." Lewis S. Reed was president of the company; Wellington B. Johnson was chief engineer.

These are route and profile maps for the Missouri, Inland and Southern Railway Company in Dent County, Missouri. The company was a short-lived organization formed to build an electric railway southward from Rolla, Missouri.

These items are associated with the centennial observance of Grace Methodist Church at Springfield in Greene County, Missouri, in May 1964. Included are a centennial story booklet, a congregational newsletter, and a church bulletin for the centennial service.

This collection consists of an invitation to a pledging ceremony in Neosho, Missouri, a membership application, and programs for "Founder's Day" observances in Joplin, Missouri, and Neosho, Missouri, for Beta Sigma Phi, a non-academic sorority based in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Ozark Playgrounds Association Records contains booklets and pamphlets published by the Ozark Playgrounds Association to promote the "Playgrounds of the Ozarks," encompassing the Ozarks regions in Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The booklets include geographical listings, maps, and lists of restaurants, hotels, and tourist attractions.

These are four Laclede County, Missouri, school directories, published in consecutive years (1943-1944 through 1946-1947) by County School Superintendent Hazel Ponder. Included are district numbers and names, teachers' names and salaries, total assessed valuations and tax rates, enrollment and average attendance, and names of members of the School Board for each district.

The Ozark Opry Booklet Collection contains three souvenir booklets for the Ozark Opry, a country music show founded by Lee and Joyce Mace and located at Osage Beach in Miller County, Missouri.

These papers deal mostly with the conviction, appeal , and later the death of J. F. Kennedy, a train-robber. William J. Orr was an attorney for the Kansas City, Fort Scott and Memphis Railway, and later the St. Louis-San Fransisco Railway, who prosecuted Kennedy in 1899. Also included is an obituary of Orr from the Springfield, Missouri News Leader.

This hard-bound booklet lists military veterans, mostly from World War II, from Advance in Stoddard County, Missouri. Included are 75 individual entries and five "Gold Star Boys." Entries include photographic portraits, dates and branch of service, rank, domestic and overseas postings, and awards. At the back are snapshot views of Advance and nine pages of advertising.

These are survey reports, field notes, and plats regarding relocation of the Old St. Louis-Springfield Road near Arlington in Phelps County, Missouri. The surveys were performed by Clarence E. Bardsley, Special Highway Engineer and Deputy Surveyor of Phelps County. Plats show road right-of-way, the line of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, the former site of the Ozark Iron Works, and the village of Arlington, Missouri.

This is a receipt dated September 2, 1829 and signed by R. T. Williamson at New Madrid in New Madrid County, Missouri, for the tuition of Polly and Isabella Belson. The payment was made by Seavers & McFaddin for the account of Fanny Belson, guardian.

This is a numbered, blank, stock certificate for the Chester, Perryville, Ste. Genevieve & Farmington Railroad Company. Organized in 1894, the company was part of Louis Houck's railroad network in southeasten Missouri.

These are miscellaneous papers concerning the Ozark Artists' guild at Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. Included are program schedules, announcements, brochures, and other printed matter, especially concerning the Guild's headquarters and gallery, the Spiva Art Center.

This is a holograph letter dated March 31, 1871, from L. N. Phillips in Dubuque, Iowa, to D. Lansing in New York, New York. In the letter, Phillips tries to interest Lansing in the St. James and Little Rock Railroad Company and lead mining opportunities in Missouri and Iowa. Included is a hand-drawn map of existing and proposed rail lines.

This collection includes a Quarterly Conference record book (1890-1893) and a postal card (1894) concerning the Waynesville Charge of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, in Pulaski County, Missouri.

These are photographs of the Erwin Dunn family of Winona in Shannon County, Missouri, and the diplomas, photographs, and class newspapers of his daughter, Mildred L. Dunn. There are also items on the history of Winona.

These are four issues of 'The Mirror: Reflections from the Sports, Entertainment and Other Fronts,' from 1952 and 1953. Edited by Paul Stubblefield, 'The Mirror' was published weekly at Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. It contained television schedules, listings for dances, concerts, meetings, recreational activities and sporting events, and advertisments for local businesses.

This is an informational booklet for the 1856 season at Camp Shawio, a resident and day camping facility near Linden in Christian County, Missouri. The camp was owned and operated by the Camp Fire Girls Council of the Ozarks. Shawio stands for Share With Others.

This is a promotional booklet for the Branson/Hollister area of Taney County, Missouri. Included are advertisements for tourist attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and other tourism related businesses.

This is a certificate number 224 for 500 shares of capital stock in the Zinc Milling and Manufacturing Company of Joplin in Jasper County Missouri. The certificate was registered to Paul F. Vose.

This is a brochure for the Riverside Inn on the Elk River near Elk Springs in McDonald County, Missouri. It includes four photographs of the resort and descriptive text.

This is a program booklet for an airport terminal dedication and air show sponsored by the Joplin Chamber of Commerce at Joplin Municipal Airport in Jasper County, Missouri on May 29-31, 1971.

This is a glass plate negative and copy print of Scotia furnance in Crawford County, Missouri. The Scotia Iron company of St. Louis built the furnace in 1870 and operated it until 1880.

These are four issues from June, August, and October 1892, of the " Southwestern Miner", a newsletter "devoted exclusively to the Lead and Zinc mines of Missouri and Kansas." Published every week at Carterville, Missouri, by "Campbell & Shelton" and managed by T. J. Shelton, and the journal included production statistics and mining news items from southwestern Missouri and southeastern Kansas, and particularly from Jasper County, Missouri.

This is a "History of the Hood United Mehthodist Church: 1891-1969." It includes a brief history of the congregation at Republic in Greene County, Missouri, and a photograph of the 1891 church building.

These are published booklets containing the minutes of annual meetings of the Barry County Baptist Association, held at Cassville, Missouri, in 1937 and 1945.

This is a souvenir booklet for Swindle College School near Corsicana in Barry County, Missouri. It was presented by teacher, Agnes Hazel, to her pupils at the close of school on March 19, 1926.

This is a letter of July 1, 1885 from W. S. Tower of Carthage in Jasper County, Missouri, to Thomas W. Gleason in Hartford, Connecticut. It concerns the payment of interest and a possible investment in land.

This booklet is entitled "Roster of the Men and Women of Perry County, Missouri, in World War II, issued on the occasion of welcome home celebration inPerryville, Missouri on Augist 14, 1946. It contains an alphabetical list of Perry County's veterans, including a separate list of those who died in service.

These are six letters from Talbott & Clark, a business partnership at Proctor in Morgan County, Missouri, to A. J. Stillwell & Company in Hannibal, Missouri. They concern the purchase and shipment of butchered meat.

This is a program for the W. B. Wilson Medal Essay contest held at Normal Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on June 8, 1896. The subject of the contest was "The Poetry of Edgar Allen Poe."

These are photocopies of the correspondence and business papers of the Chadwell and Leavenworth famlies of Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. The papers concern family news and buisness matters, and include the Civil War letters of Alexander H. Chadwell, a Confederate soldier, and Joseph H. Leavenworth and N. H. Leavenworth regarding the lumber buisness in Mississippi in the 1870s and 1880s.

This is a letter of February 20, 1890 from W. E. Smith, judge of probate court at Pineville in McDonald County, Missouri, to W. S. Sherley of Matinsville, Indiana. The letter deals with the affairs of Sarah Stockwell, deceased.

These are papers of rotary club No. 243 at Joplin in Jasper County, Missouri. Included are membership rosters, newsletters Joplin Chats, and miscellaneous papers, mostly memorials of deceased members.

Friant, President of the Himmelberger-Harrison Land Selling company at Cape Girardeau in Cape Girardeau county, Missouri, to the Himmelberger-Harrison Lumber company in Cape Girardeau and A. W. Wilkey at Risco in New Madrid County, Missouri.

This is a booklet by photographer and publisher Arthur L. Patton, containing photographs of scenes of Grandin in Carter County, Missouri, and the operations of the Missouri Lumber and Mining Company.

This is a letter dated May 25, 1908 from James E. Bryan at Doniphan in Ripley County, Missouri, to M. Waddle at the Home Building and Loan Compnay in Marion, Ohio. In the letter Bryan promises to repay a loan.

This is a souvenir marking the end of the school year on March 31, 1905 at Blue Hall School in Mount Vernon Township in Lawrence County, Missouri. The souvenir was presented by the teacher, Lida McNatt, and includes the names of all the students and the members of the school board.
