The papers consist of two translated copies of the book, The State of Missouri; An Account with Special References to German Immigration, 1859, written by Friedrich Muench, an influential German writer and later Missouri politician. The translations were done by Elsa Nagel from the original German, and include one handwritten and one typed copy.

The photographs of Ruby “Rose” Stauber depict life in the Woman’s Army Corps from 1952-1978. Of particular interest are the photographs of women in basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort McClellan, Alabama. Rose’s photographs also contain images of female generals at Fort McClellan, such as Mildred Inez Caroon Bailey and Elisabeth Hoisington. The collection also documents the people she encountered in her world travels during her military career.

Registers of baptisms, marriages, and deaths for Ste. Genevieve, MO, parish from the early days of the church in Ste. Genevieve to the statehood period. Records are in French and cover the whole community, including slaves. One register lists marriages between Catholics and non-Catholics and among non-Catholics which were performed by the parish priests.

A record of the boat, master, destination and cargo of vessels leaving the port of Cambridge on the Missouri River. Most of the cargo was tobacco, hemp, potatoes, hides, and wheat. The book was used as a scrapbook by John B. Land and was recovered by removing most of the clippings. See also the Land, John Braxton (1860-1949), Papers, 1918-1939, (C0359).
