The State Historical Society of Missouri's education initiative, the Center for Missouri Studies, is focused on sharing Missouri history through a variety of learning and outreach opportunities that are accessible to multiple audiences.
Through its signature youth education program, National History Day in Missouri, SHSMO transforms the way kids view history. Students learn about their world and themselves by creating hands-on research projects and competing in successive local, state, and national contests.
The Center also publishes the Missouri Historical Review. The cornerstone of SHSMO's publications program since 1906, this quarterly journal offers scholarly articles on diverse topics in Missouri history. Additionally, as an active book publisher, SHSMO's featured projects have covered everything from editorial cartoons to German settlement.
